College of Engineering Welcomes Mary Darrow

December 8, 2008

For the past several months, Mary Darrow has participated in a joint appointment, supported by funds from an NSF grant, with the Office of Community College Research and Policy (in the College of Human Sciences) and the College of Engineering.  In this appointment she has provided administrative support to grant initiatives.

To better align resources in support of grant programmatic implementation, Mary has agreed to relocate to 113 Marston Hall. From there, Mary will collaboratively work with the Recruitment and Pre-College Programs office and the Engineering Student Services area, as well as numerous other offices and departments to realize established grant goals.

This move reflects our commitment to increase the recruitment, advising, and retention of transfer students into engineering at Iowa State. Two substantial NSF grants awarded to the College of Engineering in collaboration with the College of Human Sciences are being used to support these efforts. The grants are STEM Student Enrollment and Engagement through Connections (SEEC) and Advancing the Vision of the Engineer of 2020.

Please join us in welcoming Mary to Marston Hall and the College of Engineering.
